00: Sakura “It always starts with cherry blossoms”

The story of the beginning of the wooden key chain monitor project in December 2021.

 

(This blog contains the story of making a wooden keychain.

The first wooden key chain I made.
I want to be a Japanese Santa.
I'm quite serious!

Last December, I created a website for selling wooden molds.
I wanted to create a novelty item,
Wouldn't it be cute if we made miniature wooden molds?
While thinking about this,

that day,
I had borrowed a real wooden mold of cherry blossoms from a Japanese confectionery shop the day before, so
I was researching whether it was possible to create 3D data.
(Later, data will also be used for cherry blossom key chains with aroma stones)

I don't remember much, but when I realized,
I changed the 3D cherry blossom data I was researching into 2D,
I was creating data for a laser processing machine.

When this is done,
"Ah, that's cute!"
I wanted everyone to get their hands on it.

Maybe I have a weak memory of when I made it,
Where there is no desire,
I guess the good thing about this keychain is that you can honestly face the motif and material.

Also, the production date is the night of December 23rd.
Just like Santa is preparing presents to give to everyone.
I made a wooden keychain,
I decided to post it to share with everyone.

I received more feedback than I expected, and it turned out just like I had imagined.
On Christmas Eve, I was able to make wooden keychains to give to everyone all night long.
(I wasn't lonely)
I could imagine the smile on the face of the person giving it to me,
I felt like I understood Santa's feelings a little bit.

That's why we are recruiting monitors.
It's actually meant to be a present.
Santa also gives out free presents.

When we start a new project, we start with cherry blossoms.

It is also the national flower of Japan, and it is a flower that has many fond memories for many people.
And surprisingly, it's not seasonal.

Designers tend to be very particular about design, so
By using a cherry blossom motif, you can think of product concepts other than the motif.
I feel like the concept is coming together.

Maybe it's just me, but when a new project starts,
I'm thinking of drawing from cherry blossoms.
